Design Taxi is a blog that has really confused me over the course of the semester. It is a unique blog that doesn’t just give design tips and talk about design. Instead, the blog follows a lot of what is happening in celebrities’ lives.
I honestly haven’t read much of the blog. I signed up for the newsletter to follow it and was kind of put off. I’m not one to follow what is happening in Hollywood and the like. For this blog to follow this just seemed strange to me. I didn’t really see many graphic design articles. I don’t think there is really anything wrong with the blog covering the topics it does, but if I am going to follow a blog for graphic design inspiration and tips, I don’t want to have to sort through articles about Bella Thorne, the Kardashians or Melania Trump.
Additionally, I found the site slightly hard to navigate and distracting. I tried to read a few articles and was overwhelmed with other articles filling the side of the page. Plus, because of the nature of most of their content, it looked like a lot of click-bait ads. This made me not want to be on the site because I generally don’t trust sites that have a lot of ads or click-bait on them. It feels messy and overwhelming. Maybe I’m being too hard on the site, but it wasn’t one I really had the desire to follow or read articles from.
